My name is Andrea Glydon, I am 21 years old and in my last semester of Elementary Education specializing in PreK-3.
I have 3 older sisters who are all married and am the proud Auntie to 2 nieces and a nephew. I grew up on a farm near the small town of Morse. I love to do anything outside and enjoy watching and playing sports, especially curling and hockey.
My knowledge of technology is very low, so low that my roommate had to set up this blog for me! The only thing I use the computer for is to use the internet for social networking and to research things or to type out papers. However, I am very eager to learn new uses of technology.
I think that technology can be very useful in classroom, especially in younger grades because it gets them used to using technology to find information and shows them ways that technology can be helpful. Youtube is a great resource for teachers and students because it presents information in a child friendly matter, not just through text.
My expectations for this class are to learn how technology can be used in the classroom in beneficial ways, not just for “fluff”. I also want to become very comfortable with technology myself. I want to be able to use technology in my daily life with ease so that I can teach my students the benefits of it.
So that’s me in a nut shell… and I am a little nutty!
